Baden-Baden is a famous balneological resort situated 112-118 m. above sea level in the south-west of Germany. This "Summer capital of Europe" is situated between mountains of Schwarzwald and valley of the river Rhine. Each rock, each canyon has its own history and name. This wonderful town near the footboard of the "Black wood" was famous since the first millennium when Romans had sought and found recovery in the valley of the river Oos. On the springs of Civitas Anurelia Aquensis (so-called Baden-Baden in those times) they built large bath-houses for their soldiers. In 214 A.D. under emperor Caracalle's government were built large emperor bath houses. In 1306 they were rented by the government of the town and the resort Badon (later called Baden) had again gained in popularity. Since 1507 the row has become the resort of the first rank. In 2002 the resort Baden-Baden had received a very prestige award "Five star Diamond award" from the American Academy of Hospitality sciences. Thanks to the geographical position of Baden-Baden here is a mild, even Mediterranean climate. The average temperature in June is 17,2° С. The summer season lasts from may till October.

Here are situated the Termal (up to 68,8° С) and Radon (33,7 - 44,7 nk/l) springs of the Chlorid-Natrium waters. In 1541 famous medieval doctor Paracelsus wrote: "Hot Baden-Baden waters worth much more than any others". In the town there are existed a lot of clinics where you can consult the best specialists and there are a lot of swimming pools with fresh and mineral waters. The "Caracalla Therme" and "Friedrichsbad" suggest a lerge complex of the therapeutic services. "Max-Grundig clinic" a special clinic in internal diseases suggests modern methods of traditional medicine.

Baden-Baden is one of the best resorts of Germany and Europe. Here is situated a natural reserve, wonderful parks, the rosarium, ideal golf fields, the racecourse and the luxury Casino which Marlen Dietrich called "the most smartly decorated gambler house in the world". The kings, tsars, poets and composers walked under chesnut -trees of the Lichtentaler path.
